Who we are

AI Visibility Checker is a browser extension that audits website readiness for AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, YandexGPT, Gemini). Developer — Vlas Fedorov (vlasdobry@gmail.com).

What data we collect

The extension sends the following data to analytics:

• uid — a random anonymous identifier (UUID v4), generated on your device, not linked to your identity
• event — event type: install, audit start, export report, link click
• domain — only the domain of the audited site (e.g. example.com), without path or query parameters
• score — the audit score (0–100)
• check_id — numeric score for each of the 7 checks (Schema.org, llms.txt, E-E-A-T, FAQ, etc.). Numbers only, no page content
• status_level — category of the final score (1–4)
• locale — browser interface language (e.g. en or ru)
• version — extension version
• ts — event timestamp (Unix time)

Aggregated data (e.g. "percentage of sites without llms.txt") may be used for market research and blog publications, without identifying specific domains.

What we do NOT collect

• Name, email, phone — no personal information
• IP address is not stored in the database
• Content of audited pages
• Full URLs — only the domain
• Cookies, passwords, form data
• Browsing history
• Data from tabs you did not audit with the extension

Why we collect data

Statistics are used only to:

• Understand how many people use the extension
• Improve the product based on real usage patterns
• See average audit scores (without linking to specific users)

Data is not sold to third parties, not used for advertising, not shared with ad networks.

Where data is stored

Events are stored in a Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) database in the Eastern Europe region. Only the developer has access to the database.

The list of AI bots and scoring settings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device and are not synced to the cloud.

Extension permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab — access to the active tab to read HTML for analysis (only when you click the icon)
• storage — store settings and the anonymous identifier on your device
• scripting — inject the analysis script into the active tab (needed after the extension reloads)
• alarms — periodically refresh the configuration (bot list, scoring weights)

The extension does not run in the background, does not read data from other tabs automatically, and does not track your browsing.

Third-party services

• Cloudflare — hosting for Worker and D1 database (Cloudflare privacy policy)
• Google Chrome Web Store — extension delivery (Google privacy policy)

No other third-party services. Google Analytics, Yandex.Metrika, Facebook Pixel and similar trackers are not used.

Data retention

Analytics data is stored for up to 24 months and then automatically deleted. If you want your data deleted sooner — email vlasdobry@gmail.com with your anonymous uid (find it at chrome://extensions → AI Visibility Checker → service worker → Application → Storage → userId). We'll delete within 30 days.

Your rights

• Delete everything with one action: remove the extension via chrome://extensions. Local data (userId) disappears automatically.
• Delete event history on the server: email us — we'll delete by your uid.
• Request a copy of your data: email us — we'll send everything linked to your uid.
• Opt out of collection: block geo-checker-api.vlasdobry.workers.dev in your firewall or uninstall the extension.

Policy changes

For material changes to this policy, we'll display a notice directly in the extension via remote config. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
